Spokane Valley a success

The Spokesman-Review

The story on anti-incorporation folks in Spokane Valley misses the real story of the new city of Spokane Valley. If the reader goes to www.svba.us or the city’s Web site, www.spokanevalley.org, both have the city’s report card: City Finance 101. This review informs how we compare to others in the state.

Mr. Camden’s story is incomplete. The sites provide facts on how well the city of Spokane Valley functions. We ask you to judge on facts, not a mythical desire to return to the 1950s.

Spokane Valley is one of the safest, well-run cities at the lowest cost in the state. It has demonstrated a city can contract services, keep costs down and benefit citizens with government closest to them.

We believe the large filing of candidates for office this year demonstrates many good people want to participate in their city government. We applaud and support them and the city of Spokane Valley.
