New faces

Northwest MedStar has hired Dave Noble as a lead emergency medical technician driver and Rick Lau as an emergency medical technician driver.

Dr. Bret Johnson has joined Ellingsen-Paxton Orthodontics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in cellular biology from Western Washington University, a master’s degree in science and a doctor of dental science degree from the University of Michigan. Spokane County United Way has hired Diane Wright as vice president of resource development. She has more than 18 years of fundraising, marketing and volunteer management experience.

Jim Rambo has been hired by Impeccable Landscapes as a certified arborist and pesticide applicator. He has more than seven years of landscaping experience and previously worked as a farmer in Oakesdale, Wash.

Andre-Romberg Insurance Agency Inc. has hired Jaime Clark as a personal lines client services sales representative and Brenda Britton as a commercial lines customer service representative/agent. Both previously worked for Argonne Agency.

Dana Reddington has been named Idaho region president for Wells Fargo. He previously served as regional manager for Minnesota Business Banking and has 25 years of financial services experience including 21 years with Wells Fargo. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Oregon University and graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School and the Wells Fargo Leadership Mastery program.

Promotions

ALSC Architects has promoted Ken Murphy to principal. He has been with the company since 1993.

Teresa Conway has been promoted by Eastern Washington University to director of marketing and communications. She has been with the university for three years, previously working as a writer, editor and project manager.

Kudos

Ernst and Young LLC awarded Lisa Shaffer with its 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Pacific Northwest in the life sciences category. Shaffer is president and CEO of Signature Genomic Laboratories in Spokane.

Home Accent Today magazine has named The Tin Roof and Concept Home as one of the Top 50 Retail Stars of 2009.

Magner Sanborn received a Finalist certificate at the Outdoor Advertising Association of America’s 67th annual OBIE Awards for the firm’s “Start Something Big” campaign for Eastern Washington University.

Appointed

Scott Morris, president and CEO of Avista Corp., has been appointed to lead Spokane County United Way’s 2009 campaign. Mike Covey of Potlatch will serve as vice chairman. Other campaign cabinet members include: Kurt Walsdorf of Bank of America; Tom Stevenson of Moss Adams; Eric Cremers of Potlatch; Jeff Philipps of Rosauers; Roger Flint of CH2M Hill; Jeff Thomas of Family Service Spokane; Jamie Aitken of KREM 2; Rick Robinson of Kim Hotstart; Bob Wigren of US Bank; Rob Higgins of Spokane Realtors Association; Kris Mikkelsen of Inland Power and Light; Jeff Severs of Greater Spokane Incorporated; and Greg Tenold of Spokane Industries.

Spokane Falls Community College has appointed Glen Cosby as dean of instruction for humanities and academic international education. Cosby previously served as interim dean of social sciences, philosophy and academic initiatives for SFCC and as a tenured philosophy instructor and department chair for Spokane Community College’s humanities and social sciences department. In addition, the college has appointed James Waller as dean of instruction for social sciences and cultural studies. Waller previously served as dean of instruction for equity, diversity and special initiatives and as multicultural education visiting scholar for SFCC and was a department chair of psychology and a tenured professor at Whitworth University.

Roger Woodworth has been appointed by Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire as a member of the Clean Energy Leadership Council. Woodworth serves as vice president of Avista Corp.
