It’s all about pork

The Spokesman-Review

In the Sunday business section, your paper printed an article about the Cash for Clunkers program, written by Bert Caldwell, touting this program as, “… the best stimulus plan going almost overnight. …”

Take into account this rebate money benefits some people; it must be paid back by everyone. Many salivating Americans greedily rushed to buy a new car, because “government” is helping out with a fat rebate check. They are actually getting a grant, oftentimes from strapped Americans who cannot afford a new automobile, with or without a so-called rebate, for themselves. Fair? Well, Obama promised to redistribute wealth.

“Billions of dollars” is a staggering amount. This program is pork, as are most Obama ideas and proposals. Oppressive future burdens. These programs are recklessly pushing the U.S. toward bankruptcy.

Isn’t it time for us all to come to our senses, and start saying “no” to this stimulus, and environmental-fix ruse? I hope the paper will take time in the future to investigate some of these issues, not to just scratch the surface and repeat spoon-fed media deception and left-wing political hype.
