A woman was assaulted early today on the Washington State University campus, the second such attack in a week, authorities reported.
Another woman was attacked Wednesday evening.
Both attacks occurred in or near Terrell Mall at the heart of the Pullman campus, said James Tinny, campus spokesman.
In today’s assault, a woman said the assailant was sitting on bench in Terrell Mall and then began following her to Troy Lane near the Smith Building where he grabbed her. The woman broke free and called campus police about 12:30 a.m.
On Wednesday, a similar incident occurred on Terrell Mall near Library Road at 11 p.m. The woman escaped and called police.
No injuries were reported in the incidents.
The assailant today was described as white, 5-foot-9 with a stocky build. In the previous incident, the man’s weight was estimated at 200 pounds. In both cases, the attacker was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and shorts.
