Officers warning motorists of school zone speeds

The Spokesman-Review
Law enforcement officers are reminding motorists to be careful going through school zones today as classes resume for Spokane Public Schools. Other school districts in Spokane County open in coming days with some not starting until Sept. 8, the day after Labor Day. Officer Teresa Fuller of the Spokane Police Department said today’s commute was moving safely so far, but that motorists should reacquaint themselves with 20 mph school zones along their routes and watch out for children in those zones. Fuller was at Shadle Park High School where traffic was maintaining the 20 mph limit in front of the school, she said. “Just be extra careful,” she said.
