Cap-and-trade system scary

The Spokesman-Review

“Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.” Rahm Emanuel.

To listen to the politicians, we live in a state of crisis. They hand out the “crisis” title like Jim Jones handed out Kool-Aid, and for the same reason. While President Barack Obama and Congress have been diverting the nation’s attention with the health care “crisis,” they’ve been plotting the mother of all “crisis”: cap-and-trade.

Using the cost of $100 per ton of carbon dioxide from Wikipedia and information from the Energy Information Agency, the average family of four will pay an extra $1,303 on gasoline and heating their home with natural gas will add $519 per year in taxes.

That’s an additional $150 per month but with tacking on costs manufacturers will have to add to their products, the sky’s the limit. No green job on Earth (except Al Gore’s) will keep up.

Our economy is already in tatters, and they want to pass this? Get involved, write or visit your senators to demand they vote against this national cyanide bill, because it’s not about saving the Earth; it’s about power and the redistribution of your wealth.
