Robber holds up north Spokane market

The Spokesman-Review

A man armed with a black shotgun robbed a convenience market and gas station Tuesday night on the North Side and is believed to have fled in a red mid-1990s SUV, police said.

The clerk at Divine’s Foodmart, 1918 N. Hamilton St., reported to Spokane police that the robber was wearing an insulated black jacket, jeans and black ski mask with possibly a white skull design on it.

The robber took cash just before 9 p.m. and fled south to the alley and then went east, police said.

A witness one block away was watching a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the alley and saw a black man with the same type of clothing come out of the alley and get in the passenger seat, police said. The vehicle left westbound on Baldwin Avenue.

The vehicle was described as an older model Ford Bronco or Chevrolet Blazer.
