In brief: Youth soccer registering

SPOKANE VALLEY – Registration is available for the Spokane Valley Youth Soccer and the Cobra Soccer Club new Indoor Soccer Futsal Program for winter 2010. Futsal is a modified form of indoor soccer, designed to improve foot skills.

Programs include U6, U7 and U8 “Play n’ Train,” which are three-on-three leagues.

The season is seven weeks and begins Jan. 17. Cost is $55.

U9 to U14, which are five-on-five leagues, play indoor futsal games. The season is eight weeks and begins Jan. 17. Cost is $55.

Crystal charter honors Camp Fire

SPOKANE COUNTY – Camp Fire USA Inland Northwest Council was recently presented with a 100-year commemorative crystal charter in honor of the Camp Fire USA Centennial, which will be celebrated in 2010.

The charters were designed to reflect the organization’s 100-year history of service, with the traditional Camp Fire symbols representing the value of work, service to others and an appreciation for the environment.
