Fire District 8 – New commissioner Dennis Ross was sworn in. The commissioners voted to approve a Spokane/Kootenai County Mutual Aid agreement and also approved an interlocal agreement to extend the countywide ambulance agreement until March 2010. (Source: Administrative assistant Carol Trescott)

Fairfield City Council – KayDee Gilkey, Brian Kauffman and Harrby Gibbons were sworn in to their new positions. The town’s Old Fashioned Christmas is today. Several trees donated by the Spokane Conservation District have been planted by the wastewater treatment facility and the SCOPE office. The North Palouse Journal has gone out of business, so The Spokesman-Review Valley Voice will now publish official notices for the town. The 2010 budget was adopted.
