Heather Bowman notched her fourth 20-point outing of the season, scoring 24 to go along with nine rebounds, as Gonzaga (8-2) handled Montana (3-6) 75-48 in a non-conference women’s basketball game in front of 3,023 fans Friday night at the McCarthey Athletic Center.

With her team leading 15-13 with 9:27 remaining in the first half, Bowman asserted herself, scoring 10 of the Bulldogs’ 12 points in the span to build the lead to 27-17 at the 1:57 mark.

Gonzaga pushed the lead to as high as 28 points, hitting that mark three times in the second half. Courtney Vandersloot and Katelan Redmon each added 13 points for GU with Vandersloot also collecting seven assists.

Sarah Ena and Katie Baker led the Grizzlies with 13 and 10 points, respectively, but no other players finished with more than seven points, going just 18 of 52 from the field against the Gonzaga defense.

Washington State 73, Montana State 61: Freshman Carly Noyes scored in double figures for the first time this season with 16 points, and after trailing by one at halftime, the Cougars (4-4) roared out of the break, outscoring the Bobcats (6-4) by 13 points in the second half to pick up the non-conference win in Bozeman.

Jazmine Perkins also added 16 and five Cougars scored at least 10 against the Bobcats. Perkins scored 13 first-half points to keep the Cougars close.

MSU was led by Sarah Strand’s 18 points and seven rebounds and Beata Bak had 13 points and eight boards. But as a team, Montana State shot just 2 of 18 from beyond the 3-point line and 37.7 percent from the field.

Portland 67, Idaho 56: Laiken Dollente scored 20 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists and the Pilots (6-3) beat the Vandals (1-9) in Moscow.

The Vandals trailed by just five at the break, despite being outshot 46.7 to 37 percent, and kept the game close throughout, thanks to the efforts of Jessica Graham, who scored 18 points to go with seven rebounds and three blocks.

The Pilots extended their lead to double digits in the final minute of the contest.

Dollente was 8 for 8 to lead the way, adding to her four 3-pointers.

College of Idaho 87, Whitworth 67: Nicole Gall scored 43 points to lift the Coyotes to a non-conference win over the Pirates at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

With the Coyotes (6-3) trailing Whitworth (3-4) by one at the half, Gall exploded for 31 second-half points, hitting five of her seven 3-pointers, finishing with a double-double, adding 10 rebounds.

The Pirates were led by Liz Hooriatis and Leah Pomante, who scored 12 points apiece. An Emily Travis 3-pointer gave them a 32-31 halftime lead.

In the second half, though, the Pirates shot just 20 percent from the floor and were outrebounded in the game 52-41, while College of Idaho shot 58.8 percent in the second half, including going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc.

CC Spokane 53, Clackamas 52: Meghan Eisenmann hit a 3-point shot with 4 seconds remaining, giving the Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch (5-1) an upset victory over the NWAACC No. 1-ranked Cougars (4-1) at Spokane Falls CC.

Eisenmann finished with a game-high 22 points, including 7-of-8 shooting from the free-throw line. She attempted all but four of the Sasquatch’s 12 free throws.

CCS held the Cougars to 32.7 percent shooting from the floor and 21.4 percent from 3-point range. The Sasquatch took advantage of 6-of-22 shooting by CCC in the first half to earn the lead before opening it up to nine points early in the second half.

Salt Lake CC 78, North Idaho 68: Haley Holmstead scored a game-high 31 points and the No. 2-ranked Bruins (12-1, 5-0 Scenic West Athletic Conference) rolled to their 12th straight win, beating the Cardinals (8-2, 3-2) in Salt Lake City.
