Spokane Valley Fire – Commissioners voted to approve a Spokane County/Kootenai County mutual aid agreement and to extend an interlocal contract for ground ambulance service until March 31. The bid for a new rescue truck was awarded to KME in the amount of $456,325. Commissioners also voted to extend Chief Thompson’s contract for three years with a 2 percent pay increase in January and an additional 1 percent increase in July. Fire District 8 – Two volunteers were appointed lieutenants and took their oaths of office. An executive session was held to discuss contract negotiations with Local 3711. (Source: Administrative assistant Carol Trescott)
