Chiefs topple Seattle
James Reid made 37 saves on 38 shots to pace the Spokane Chiefs to a 3-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Tuesday at Kent, Wash.
Levko Koper opened the scoring for Spokane with a perfect shot from a wide angle that found the net at 9:25 of the first period.
Brady Brassart doubled the lead at 5:41 of the second period when he knocked in a rebound of a Mitch Holmberg shot.
Kyle Beach added his 24th goal of the season later in the period for Spokane (21-9-2).
Luke Lockhart broke up Reid’s shutout bid with his second goal of the season at 10:02 of the third period.
Calvin Pickard made 35 saves for Seattle (12-19-4).
