Veterans cemetery building burglarized
The Eastern Washington State Veterans Cemetery, under construction at 21702 W. Espanola Road, was burglarized over the weekend.
Sgt. Dave Reagan of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said two Patron-brand electric heaters were stolen from inside the building at the site.
Construction workers closed the site on Dec. 11 around 4 p.m. When they returned Monday they noticed a plywood cover on the north side of the building had been nailed into place, rather than the screws originally used to hold it in place. The two heaters, valued at $700 each, were taken from inside the building.
