Holiday affects business, government hours

The following offices and services in the Spokane and Coeur d’Alene areas will be affected by the Christmas holiday:

•City, county, state and federal offices will be closed Friday.

•Spokane County District Court Probation and Mental Health Court County offices, as well as all county offices overseen by the Board of Commissioners, including assessor, auditor and treasurer, will close at noon today.

•Spokane and Spokane Valley city halls will close at noon today.

•Spokane County Building and Planning Department is closed today and Friday.

•The Post Falls Library will close today at 3 p.m. Spokane, Spokane County and Coeur d’Alene libraries will be closed today and Friday.

•Offices at North Idaho College will close today at noon and remain closed until Jan. 2. Molstead Library will remain closed until Jan. 11.

•City and rural garbage normally picked up on Friday will be one day late.

•Banks, post offices and liquor stores will be closed Friday.

•Parking meters do not need to be plugged Friday.

•Most grocers will be closed Friday.

•Spokane Transit Authority buses will run on regular schedules today and on the holiday service schedule, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday.

•Some Riverfront Park attractions, including the Ice Palace and Imax Theater, will be open; the Carrousel and Sky Ride will be closed Friday.
