Searchers find Post Falls man in mountains

A 53-year-old Post Falls man was found during a search of the mountains of Kootenai County today after he reportedly ran out of gas. Kent Giese, 53, declined medical assistance and decided to stay in the mountains with friends so he could free his vehicle, which was stuck in a foot of snow. It was the third successful search by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department and Search and Rescue in less than 24 hours, said Major Ben Wolfinger. He cautioned outdoor enthusiasts that snow conditions are not favorable for driving or snowmobiling.
