Christian Youth Theater Auditions - The crew will be putting on a fully-staged musical fundraiser in just 24 hours time. Come and audition for the stage or behind the scenes. Schweitzer’s Annual New Year’s Party in Taps Lounge - Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the celebration kicks off with a DJ at 7:30 p.m. followed by Sol Jibe at 9 p.m. Ninjazz will perform a free concert at 9 p.m. in the Chimney Rock Grill. A teen tubing party for ages 12-17 will include a campfire, s’mores, snacks, games and midnight group soda belch as well as Wii entertainment inside. The ’tween party is for ages 7-11 and will include games, Wii, snacks, crafts, contests, a midnight toast and more. Parent pick-up for the event is 12:30 a.m. Tickets can be purchased at the Schweitzer Activity Center and will include free appetizers, party favors, and a champagne toast for adults at midnight as well as a free shuttle service between the Park and Ride lot at the bottom of the mountain or the Red Barn parking lot and Schweitzer Village. Choose to Lose - Improvised game show where two contestants choose games for Blue Door players to compete in with the ultimate goal of losing in order to win prizes. Before and After School Camps - For ages 5-12. Children will be provided with games, snacks and transportation to and from school. Campbell House - Visitors can tour the historic house on their own, listen to student pianists, watch old-fashioned cooking demonstrations in the kitchen and check out the special display of historic artifacts including period dresses, World War I mementos and antique calling card cases. Several guided tours will be available daily 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, 2316 W. Free Community Winter Walking Groups - Hosted by Community Health Education and Resources. Open to all ages. Walking groups meet at the Downtown YMCA at 507 N. Howard Street in the gym. Journey to the North Pole” Cruises - The 40-minute cruise departs nightly through Friday at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. from the Boardwalk Marina with boarding 15 minutes prior to cruise. Includes a visit to the North Pole, greetings from Santa and Mrs. Claus and lighting of the “world’s tallest living Christmas tree.” Reservations required.
