EWU’s Sherritt sweeps honors
Eastern Washington Eagles junior linebacker J.C. Sherritt made it a clean sweep of all five postseason All-America teams when he was selected Wednesday to the “Fabulous Fifty” by College Sporting News.
Sherritt, who led Football Championship Subdivision teams by averaging 14.17 tackles per game, was one of 10 unanimous selections on the team.
Sherritt, a Pullman High graduate, was also named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association, Sports Network and the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
The only other EWU players to make all five teams were Jim Buzzard in 1997 and Greg Peach in 2008.
