Public schools honors educator teams

Spokane Public Schools recently announced the distinguished educator teams for the first semester of the 2008-2009 academic year.

The Northside ADAPT team consists of Sarah Beyers and Leslie Dunn of Lidgerwood Elementary and Jeanie Jones, Vince Martin, Ryan Williamson, Sue Miller, Greg Perkins, Angela Smith and Laura Treece of Sacajawea Middle School. ADAPT is a new program developed to help meet the needs of students with Asperger’s syndrome.

Each teacher at Sacajawea serves as a teacher leader at the school and works on new projects, such as creating a new grading system. The teachers at Lidgerwood collaborated on lesson plans and created skill units and assessments based on the needs of the students.
