Climate denials delusional

The Spokesman-Review

Cal Thomas (Jan. 22), as usual, doesn’t allow facts to get in the way of his opinions, i.e., Cal’s quote, “There are a growing number of scientists … questioning whether this is indeed a dangerously warming planet.”

I’m not sure what comic book he is using for a reference, but certainly not a peer-reviewed article in a legitimate science magazine – magazines that don’t allow meteorologists to write about the latest in heart surgery, or nuclear physicists to write about the life cycle of a glowworm; magazines in which people who write articles are experts in their field – unlike the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal or USA Today, where even the uninformed can have their say.

If Cal Thomas can find one article printed in a reputable science magazine in the last four years, claiming global warming is not happening and is not affected by human activity, I’ll eat my sister-in-law’s fruitcake. Even the oft-quoted statement by the delusional that most climatologists in the ’70s were saying “The climate is cooling” was disproved by Science News (Oct. 25, 2008).
