Deputy charged in teen assault

SEATTLE – A King County sheriff’s deputy accused of using excessive force on a 15-year-old girl – including kicking her, holding her down and pulling her hair – has been charged with fourth-degree assault.

According to court papers filed Thursday in Superior Court, two sheriff’s deputies were booking a pair of 15-year-old girls into juvenile jail for investigation of auto theft last November.

Thirty-one-year-old Deputy Paul Schene is accused of retaliating after one girl threw her shoe at him, hitting him below the knee.

The exchange was recorded by a surveillance camera in the jail.
