Manning just greedy

The Spokesman-Review

It’s remarkable, isn’t it, Peyton Manning complaining about the Pro Bowl game being held in Florida in 2010?

He stated it was vacation time for him and his family to go to Hawaii, at pro football’s expense. The fans who attend games pay for it. Manning makes millions and is complaining?

The winners make around $40,000 per player and the losing players get around $20,000 apiece. I thought the economy was in a mess.

I was lucky enough to win the newspaper’s football predictions contest in 1979 and went to the Pro Bowl game in Hawaii in 1980.

I stayed at the same hotel as did the players. Some players were OK, and a lot of them shunned kids. In fact, they were damn right rude. The friendliest players I met were Earl Campbell of Houston and Jack Youngblood of the Los Angeles Rams.

The game was OK and I really didn’t care who won after I witnessed the actions of these players. I appreciated the fact The Spokesman-Review put on this contest and I was lucky enough to win it. I think our pro players in Spokane appreciate their fans. Go Shock!
