Reggie Jackson broke the game’s final tie with a jumper with 47.2 seconds left and Boston College scored the final six points in an 80-74 victory over No. 6 Duke on Sunday at Boston, the Eagles’ first win over the Blue Devils in 24 years.

Tyrese Rice had 21 points, including a key 3-pointer, and Joe Trapani added 20 for the Eagles (19-8, 7-5 Atlantic Coast Conference). Jackson finished with 15 points.

Kyle Singler had 25 points for the Blue Devils (20-5, 7-4), who have lost three of four, while Gerald Henderson added 20.

After the final horn sounded, BC’s students rushed the court from both ends to celebrate.

It was BC’s second win over a highly ranked team this season. The Eagles handed then-No. 1 North Carolina its first loss, 85-78, in Chapel Hill on Jan. 4.

Tar Heels weather Hurricanes: Ty Lawson sealed the game with a 3-pointer with 10.6 seconds left, and No. 3 North Carolina held off a huge comeback bid from Miami on the way to a 69-65 win at Coral Gables, Fla.

Lawson had 21 points and Wayne Ellington added 15 for North Carolina (23-2, 9-2 ACC). But even combined, they barely topped Jack McClinton, who led all scorers with 35 points for Miami (15-9, 4-7).

Ramblers beat No. 15 Butler: Freshman Jordan Hicks scored a career-high 23 points and Loyola of Chicago snapped a six-game losing streak with a 71-67 victory over No. 15 Butler at Indianapolis.

The Ramblers (13-15, 5-11 Horizon League) notched their first win over a ranked opponent since a 75-71 victory at Butler two years ago. The loss prevented the Bulldogs (22-3, 13-2) from clinching at least a share of their third straight conference regular-season championship.

Virginia upsets No. 12 Clemson: Sylven Landesberg scored six of his 23 points in overtime and Virginia beat No. 12 Clemson 85-81, ending an eight-game losing streak.

Landesberg’s driving basket with 13.4 seconds left in regulation tied it at 74, and he had the last six points in a 10-5 run to start the extra period for the Cavaliers (8-13, 2-8 ACC), whose only other league victory came in overtime at Georgia Tech.

Terrence Oglesby had 17 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Tigers (20-4, 6-4).

UConn doubles down on Pitt: Renee Montgomery scored 20 points and No. 1 Connecticut raced to a 19-point lead in the first 5 1/2 minutes en route to a 95-42 victory over No. 19 Pittsburgh at Storrs, Conn.

It was a special day for Montgomery as she became the first active player in UConn history to have her jersey put up in the Huskies of Honor. Her No. 20 is alongside such greats as Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird and Jennifer Rizzotti. Montgomery’s only the 11th player to receive the honor.

Injured Curry day-to-day: X-rays on Davidson star guard Stephen Curry’s injured left ankle are negative and the nation’s leading scorer will be listed as day-to-day.

Curry is averaging 29 points and 5.8 assists. He has twice scored more than 40 points in a game this season.

•Green’s streak ends: Mike Green’s NHL-record goals streak for defensemen ended at eight games, but Alexander Ovechkin scored three times to give the Washington Capitals a 4-2 victory over the Florida Panthers at Sunrise, Fla.
