North Idaho traffic in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 at the Washington state line was slowed this morning as workers from the Idaho Department of Transportation worked to repair a large pothole that opened up on an expansion joint of the freeway bridge over the Spokane River.
Traffic was reduced to one through lane, which was causing a backup east of the bridge. The department did not give a time when the work would be finished. The pothole on the outside lane was created from damage to an expansion joint, according to the department’s Web site.
A line of traffic was backed up several miles early today because of the lane restriction.
