Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival - Paying tribute to world rhythms of jazz and will honor jazz great Ray Brown. Wednesday: Latin Rhythms Meet Dizzy Gillespie: The evening’s all-star lineup, presented by Pepsi, will explore both sides of Gillespie. Jon Faddis will lead an all-star band with guest trumpeters in a horn blow out. Vocalist Jackie Ryan will dazzle festival audiences with her jazz and Latin-infused stylings. Closing out the night, will be Jose Rizo’s “Jazz on the Latin Side All Stars.” A dance floor will allow the audience to physically celebrate the music. Next Thursday: “Island Fever Grooves From Brazil and the Caribbean,” The evening performance, presented by Horizon Air, will showcase the jazz sounds of Brazil and the Caribbean.
