Shock trade Isaac, release Morton

The arenafootball2 Spokane Shock made a pair of roster moves on Thursday, trading defensive back Brandon Isaac to the Manchester Wolves for future considerations and releasing wide receiver Damon Morton.

The Shock’s roster stands at 34 players with one spot available to fill before training camp begins March 8.

College baseball

Shortstop John Ditore was 5 for 6 with two walks, a double, three runs scored and three runs batted in to guide the Washington & Lee Generals to a 16-5 season-opening victory over the Whitworth Pirates at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Ariz.

The Generals extended a 6-5 lead with a 10-run seventh inning.

Chris Bartenhagen doubled and homered for the Pirates and Luis Tovar had a pair of hits.

Later, the Brandeis Judges scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to claim an 11-8 win over the Pirates at Peoria, Ariz.

Whitworth battled back from an 8-4 deficit to tie the score at 8-8 in the seventh inning.

Dan Belet and Mitch Nelson had three hits apiece and Nelson homered for the Pirates. Tovar drove in two runs.
