Zags rally to top Lions

Courtney Vandersloot and Heather Bowman combined for 50 points and the Gonzaga Bulldogs overcame a 15-point halftime deficit to beat the Loyola Marymount Lions 81-78 in West Coast Conference women’s basketball play Thursday night at Los Angeles.

Vandersloot scored 22 of her 26 points in the second half.

Bowman had 24 points, Vivian Frieson had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Vandersloot also had seven assists for the Bulldogs (22-5, 10-1).

Nevada 69, Idaho 53: At Reno, Nev., Dellena Criner scored 19 points and the Wolf Pack (14-11, 8-4 WAC) held the Vandals to two field goals in the final 6:40 of the game to claim a Western Athletic Conference victory.

Derisa Taleni had 23 points, Alan Curtis scored 12 and Yinka Olorunnife had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Idaho (11-12, 8-4).
