Sports complex will be asset
Southeast Spokane and the community stand to gain with the building of a new athletic facility in Glenrose. Utilizing only a portion of the open space owned by Morning Star Boys Ranch, this facility would provide certified youth baseball fields, something this community greatly lacks.
Providing safe, secure and certified facilities provides positive options for youth, helps prevent the onset of poor health through sedentary and inactive lifestyles and is an asset to the neighborhood and community. The deer will still roam the open space and the hawks will still fly.
I live five houses from the new county pool, and none of the terrible, subjective outcomes mentioned in previous letters to the editor have occurred. No new crime, traffic is very manageable and our home values have increased.
Support the health and vitality of our youth and our community. This is a preferable option over the dense residential housing that will occur in this space as soon as it is inside the urban growth area.
