‘Impurities’ taint pros

The Spokesman-Review

I am a freshman attending Mead High School, and I am writing in regard to the ongoing issue of impurity in professional sports. Impurity is everything from performance-enhancing drugs to lying and cheating.

Performance-enhancing drugs have caused huge problems in the sports world. Although players can perform at higher levels, the downside is many outstanding careers will not be properly acknowledged because illegal substances have been involved.

Another big problem is the high salaries players receive. I believe there should be a set amount of money a player can earn in a season. Instead of competing for the love of the sport, the athletes compete for money and fame.

With all the impurities in professional sports, I feel they are no longer genuine.
