Murder suspect gets new lawyer

A man accused in the killings of two young people last year is getting a new attorney, the fourth change in his representation. Justin W. Crenshaw, 21, also had his trial date pushed back six months to the first week of October.

Crenshaw is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the Feb. 28 killings of Sarah A. Clark, 18, and Tanner E. Pehl, 20.

Prosecutor Steve Tucker chose not to pursue the death penalty against Crenshaw, so antideath penalty lawyer Judith Mandel, of Tacoma, withdrew.

Chris Bugbee is now Crenshaw’s lead counsel, and Spokane lawyer Donald Kellman was named co-counsel Wednesday.
