Snowshoe rentals return to Manito Park

If you can’t beat the weather, join it — with a snowshoe trek in Manito Park on Sunday.

The Spokane Parks and Recreation Department will be renting snowshoes from the park pavilion off Grand Boulevard from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

“We had 19 people take us up on rentals when we showed up at the park before Christmas,” said Ryan Griffith, parks outdoor coordinator.

First served will be the trekkers who reserve snowshoes in advance for this spur-of-the-moment event, which was announced today. Sign-up online at www.spokaneparks.org.

However, snowshoes should be available for walk-on adventurers. Cost: $8.
