Chiefs lose 2nd straight

KELOWNA, British Columbia – Lucas Bloodoff scored two goals and Kris Lazaruk had 21 saves to earn a shutout as the Kelowna Rockets beat the Spokane Chiefs 3-0 in Western Hockey League play in front of 6,107 at Prospera Place on Friday.

The loss was the second consecutive for the Chiefs (22-12-0-3, 47 points), who fell seven points behind the Tri-City Americans (26-10-0-2, 54) in the U.S. Division standings.

Tri-City defeated Prince George 5-2 Friday night at Prince George, British Columbia.

Spokane has been shut out twice this season.

Bloodoff scored his first goal when Spokane goalie James Reid misplayed the puck in front of the net at 10 minutes, 37 seconds of the first period.

Brandon McMillan made it 2-0 for Kelowna with a wrist shot from the left wing at 3:06 of the second.

Bloodoff completed the scoring with a short-handed, empty-net tally with Reid off for an extra attacker with 36 seconds left.
