Most area college classes cancelled

Snow blanketing the area has closed public schools and colleges throughout the Inland Northwest, but a few remain open. Just this morning, University of Idaho in Moscow cancelled classes while Whitworth University is operating as normal. UI’s Tania Thompson released a statement this morning: “Due to inclement weather in northern Idaho, the University of Idaho Moscow campus will be closed on Monday, Jan. 5. However, the evening women’s basketball game against Utah State at Cowan Spectrum, scheduled for 7 p.m., will proceed as scheduled.” Updates will be posted to the university’s Web site: http://www.uidaho.edu Eastern Washington University, Community Colleges of Spokane and Washington State University in Spokane are also closed.
