Missing mail deliveries

The Spokesman-Review

I found it refreshing to read Danette Taylor’s description of the excellent service being provided by her mail carriers. I only wish that level of service was consistent throughout the community. I haven’t been able to get any mail delivered since the middle of December, in spite of shoveling away the snow piles left by the plowings.

I asked the route supervisor about it and was told that the motor route carriers would not step out of the vehicle to reach the mailbox, even if an adequate path is cleared. He said it would extend the time required to complete their route.

Incidentally, my newspaper carrier has managed to deliver the paper every day except one. So, kudos to all the mail carriers and newspaper carriers who take their responsibilities seriously and make the extra effort during extreme conditions. To the others I recommend taking a lesson from the dedication of your peers.
