In brief: Homebuying classes offered
Community Frameworks, 315 W. Mission Ave., will continue the series of classes designed to help potential homebuyers understand credit, personal finances and mortgage lending on Wednesday, with “Mortgage Basics” beginning at 6 p.m.
Upcoming courses include “Understanding Credit” on Feb. 18, “Managing Your Finances” on March 18, and a repeat of “Mortgage Basics” on April 15.
The hourlong sessions are free and open to the public. Advance registration is required.

The city of Spokane Parks and Recreation Web site now has a new Winter Program Guide, listing available special interest, fitness and wellness classes, youth camps, Art of Fine Living workshops, one-day and longer trips, and lifestyle programs for active older adults age 50 plus.

Dinner benefits St. Patrick’s School
On Jan. 24, enjoy an Italian meal and watch the Zags for a good cause.
From 4 to 8 p.m. the St. Patrick’s Alumni Association will host the Sam Via Memorial Italian Dinner, catered by Mamma Mia’s.
The evening will include raffles, a bake sale, and beer and wine will be for sale.
Cost is $10 per person and $5 for children age 5 and under.
The benefit dinner will be held in the cafeteria at St. Patrick’s School, 2706 E. Queen Ave. Proceeds will benefit the school.
