Listen to history

The Spokesman-Review

In his column (“Thankfully, history will judge,” Jan.14) Leonard Pitts Jr. takes a last stab at bashing Bush. Stepping out on the limb of the partisan tree, he concludes that history will judge George W. Bush harshly, agreeing with the other liberals and naysayers, while denying the victory over terrorism in Iraq.

British and foreign press have already conceded victory in Iraq, citing the defeat of the insurgents and the success of democratic government. The drive-by media in America have written nothing of this progress and the early return of our troops because of this progress.

Yes, history will judge George W. Bush, who was hated almost as much as Abraham Lincoln was.

History has judged Lincoln and found his detractors lacking foresight. Yes, thankfully, history will judge, and if justice prevails it will also judge Pitts and his ilk.
