Bad time for fare plea

The Spokesman-Review

Fare increases for STA? Since the Big Snowfall of Dec. 17, STA management has bungled communication between riders and supervisors regarding route detours and current information. Is this a good time to bring up increases?

When that first snow overwhelmed downtown, no one at STA took charge, or let riders know of indefinite delays outbound. Riders helped/informed other riders. One STA official could have simply posted a sign and answered questions. In subsequent days and still, STA phone line info is useless for those on detour routes.

“Minor” detours to some are not so inconsequential to others. The local media seemed to have largely ignored the STA facet of the condition red. There were no interviews with STA directors, and feet were not held to the proverbial fire. The perception? No one gives a damn. Alas.
