Meetings will address Mead levy issues

The Mead School District Citizens Advisory Planning Committee will hold two community forums regarding the maintenance and operations levy.

The first meeting will be tonight at Prairie View Elementary, 2606 W. Johannsen Road, at 7 p.m. The second meeting will be at Mountainside Middle School, 4717 E. Day Mt. Spokane Road, on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

Topics at both meetings will include smaller class sizes, expanded student transportation, ongoing building and facilities maintenance, extracurricular activities, expanded college readiness programs and facility access.

Event to benefit Salk

The music department at Salk Middle School will have its 14th annual Salk Spaghetti Feed and Silent Auction on Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event is the department’s main fundraiser.

The event will be at the school, 6411 N. Alberta St. With the community’s help and involvement, the music department has raised almost $8,000.
