Concert merited coverage
My husband and I attended last Saturday evening’s Pink Martini concert at the Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox. The concert was sold out.
At the beginning of the concert Pink Martini acknowledged the Spokane Symphony as the second in the country to give them an opportunity to play when they first began. They, Pink Martini, donated the profits from their CD sales Saturday evening to the Spokane Symphony which sold out during intermission.
As an added show of support for our symphony, Pink Martini offered an opportunity to anyone willing to donate $100 to come up on stage to join in the encore song. I didn’t count how many accepted the offer, but it looked like about 35 people joined them on stage, raising several thousand dollars from the encore song alone for the symphony.
The concert itself was fantastic. People were on their feet cheering, clapping and showing their appreciation for an amazing musical performance. Imagine our dismay as we have searched in vain for some kind of a review of the concert. Shame on you for ignoring a fantastic musical event that supported and encouraged the Spokane Symphony.
