Foothills fun next Saturday

Foothills Community Church will host what promises to be a big community party next Saturday with long lists of carnival games and activities. The fifth annual Foothills Family Fun Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the church 11102 N. Forker Road.

There will be live music, food, a craft fair and car show.

The list of activities include an obstacle course, face painting, petting zoo, pie eating contest, scavenger hunt, dunk tank and hula hoop competition. Organizers promise fun for the whole family.

Bible school

Hope Lutheran Church, 17909 E. Broadway Ave., will host a vacation Bible school session July 20-24. The classes will run daily from 9 a.m. to noon for kids age 4 through the sixth grade. The theme of the event is “Safari Adventure Camp.” The camp is free, but donations will be accepted.

Rummage sale

The St. John Vianney Catholic Church will host its annual rummage sale Friday and next Saturday in the school gym, 410 N. Farr Road. Sale hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and lunch items will be available for purchase. Admission is free.
