Three things we’ll be talking about this week

1The Spokane Indians are only partway though a five-game homestand against the Vancouver Canadians. Avista Stadium will host games today, Tuesday and Wednesday before the team hits the road to Eugene for a five-game series against the Eugene Emeralds. Home games this week begin at 6:30 p.m.

2It’s been three years since Sacha Baron Cohen exploded onto the scene as a highly inappropriate Eastern European journalist in “Borat.” He’s back on Friday as “Brüno,” a flamboyant Austrian fashionista. Look for cameos from Bono, Chris Martin, Elton John, Snoop Dogg, Sting and Slash as “Doves of Peace.” Really.

3President Obama will be overseas this week to meet with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin in Moscow, the Group of Eight in L’Aquila, Italy, Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican and President John Atta Mills of Ghana. It’s certain that observers around the world will carefully watch Obama’s performance during his fifth international trip.
