The Spokesman-Review

Christy Bristow (Letters, June 27) stated that people hijack the Bible to back up their own opinions. This is true; but how can she write this letter when she is guilty of the same thing?

She stated “even if two women marry, each of them has only one wife.” So, does she ignore the verses she doesn’t want to listen to, because my Bible states in Leviticus 18:22, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination.” This also means women with women.

So many people use the Bible to prove a point but ignore the verses that show they are doing wrong. People need to pay attention to the whole word of God, not just what parts they want to hear.

Deuteronomy 4:2 says: “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”
