Indians rained out in Eugene

Rain forced postponement of the Spokane Indians’ game Sunday against the Eugene Emeralds in Eugene, Ore.

To make up the game the teams will play a doubleheader today, with the first game starting at 6 p.m.

•Phil Johnson went 5 for 5 with four RBIs and Cody Reeves drove in three more runs as the Spokane RiverHawks beat the Kitsap BlueJackets 11-2 at Avista Stadium.

Kyle Anderson earned the win for Spokane, allowing one run on three hits over eight innings. He struck out five and walked two.

Rodeo

Four contestants had first-place runs on the final day of the Cheney Rodeo.

John Redig of Gaviota, Calif., finished in first place in saddle bronc riding with a score of 84, four better than Brad Rudolf of Battle Mountain, Nev.

Casey Wilson of Benson, Ariz., won the tie down roping with a time of 9.1 seconds.

Jabe Anderson III of Dillon, Mont, won the steer wrestling with a time of 4.9 seconds, edging Erik Johnson of Eltopia, Wash., who finished in 5.1 seconds.

Shane Gordon of Fort Jones, Calif., won the bull riding with a score of 82.
