Traded The Atlanta Hawks traded the rights to forward-center David Andersen to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday for an undisclosed second-round draft choice, cash and future considerations.

The 6-foot-11 Andersen was a second-round draft choice of the Hawks in 2002.

Charged Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi faces three drunk-driving related charges, including extreme DUI, for a July 2 incident in which she also was cited for speeding.

A Phoenix police report shows Taurasi’s blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent, or more than twice the Arizona legal limit of 0.08 percent.

Taurasi pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges and not responsible to the speeding citation.

Issued A warrant has been issued in Las Vegas for the arrest of former NBA star Antoine Walker on criminal charges stemming from $822,500 in gambling debts.

Walker is accused of three felony counts of writing bad checks. County prosecutors say he failed to make good on 10 checks totaling $1 million written to Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and the Red Rock Resort.

Prosecutor Bernie Zadrowski told the Las Vegas Sun that Walker has repaid $178,000 of the debts incurred last July to January.

Signed The Inidana Pacers signed guard-forward Dahntay Jones to a four-year deal worth $11 millon. Jones averaged 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds last season.

•The Kansas City Chiefs announced they have signed quarterback Matt Cassel to a multiyear contract. Terms were not disclosed.The former seventh-round pick led New England to an 11-5 record and the Patriots made him their franchise player, meaning his salary for this season will be about $15 million.

Penalized NASCAR has reprimanded Martin Truex Jr. for a rules violation during Saturday’s race at Chicagoland Speedway.

Truex was docked 25 points in the Sprint Cup Series driver standings because his right rear quarter panel was found to be too high.

Returning Tennis star Rafael Nadal plans to be back at practice next week and back on tour next month.

Nadal will play in the hard-court tournament at Montreal that begins Aug. 10.
