The man was trying to steal clothes from Kohl’s when store security tried to stop him about 8 p.m., according to the Spokane Police Department. “The suspect pulled a knife and swung it at a security officer in an attempt to retain the stolen merchandise,” Officer Matt Rose said in a news release. The robber was last seen running southbound across Wellesley Avenue. No one was injured in the incident, which was captured by surveillance cameras. The robber is described as a white man between 25 and 30 years old, 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds with dark brown hair and a dark brown goatee. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a red T-shirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information about the suspect or incident should call Crime Check at 456-2233.
