Temperatures are expected to rise into the 90s today through Saturday with some locations in the Spokane urban area expected to see highs of around 98 by Saturday.
For today, highs should remain in the lower to middle 90s with 94 expected in downtown Spokane and 91 in Spokane Valley, Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene. The warm weather will also be accompanied by low humidity.
High pressure has built into the region and will continue to dominate the weather through Saturday evening when a disturbance from the Pacific Ocean could bring winds and moderating temperatures by Sunday. The wind could raise the fire danger.
Warm summer conditions should continue next week, forecasters said.
At 7 a.m., temperatures were mostly in the lower 60s with 63 at Spokane International Airport, 61 in Coeur d’Alene, 64 in Pullman and 55 in Sandpoint.
