Inundated by phone books

The Spokesman-Review

Hey, why haven’t the environmental canines been called concerning the amount of phone books that are delivered to your doorstep in Spokane? They arrive in droves.

First, I received one called DEX, whatever that stands for. I hardly had time to use it when a few months later I received a yellow book. I haven’t even opened it to hunt for a phone number when a third book, a black phone book, appeared outside my door. So, who do I call to make them quit being delivered?

You can’t put them in the newspaper recycle bin either. They won’t take them.

I’ve been taking them to work to use in the break room.

Pesky little tree robbers. Can’t seem to shake them. They keep being deposited where they’re not wanted. Work is probably not the best dumping ground for them, though. Luckily, no one else has thought of that idea. Good thing, otherwise we’d probably end up with 350 or more there.

And you know something? I’m usually in a hurry when I need a phone number. I don’t have time to hunt through pages which I find difficult to wade through, so I usually call 411 instead. The price I pay is well worth the time I save.
