Motorcycle accident in Priest River

A resident of Newport, Wash., crashed his 1985 Harley Davidson motorcycle near Priest River, Idaho, shortly before midnight Friday. Jade Schauss, 31, was traveling south on Old Priest River Road south of the Merritt Bridge when he crashed, according to the Idaho State Police. He managed to continue down the road for more than a mile before losing control for a final time and going off the road into a barbed wire fence.

Schauss was taken to Newport Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The ISP reports that alcohol was a factor.
