Overhaul Valley council

The Spokesman-Review

This fall, the city of Spokane Valley faces major decisions, with disincorporation as a real possibility. If disincorporation doesn’t happen, we need to ensure that status quo doesn’t continue either.

Steve Taylor’s leaving solves part of the problem, but there remain other council members we need to elect to the office of private citizen.

We have the opportunity to start by electing Brenda Grassel to the council. She brings to the council the desire to try something new, living within their means. As a mother of small children and a business owner, she understands the importance of keeping within the budget so her children won’t be stuck footing the bills for the council’s excesses.

After spending several hours discussing Valley issues like the new City Hall and the Sprague/Appleway Revitalization Plan with her, I find she listens to your point of view instead of attempting to change you to hers. We need approachable and concerned people on the council because what we have had are people doing their own agenda.

Please support Brenda Grassel for Spokane Valley City Council, so if the disincorporation fails, we’ll start to stock the council with the people we should’ve from the beginning.
