Chehalis, Kennewick in AA final

Chehalis and the Kennewick Bandits won their brackets Wednesday to advance to today’s championship of the AA American Legion State Tournament.

The winner of today’s noon title game at U-Hi advances to regional, starting Aug. 7 in Kearns, Utah.

•Josh Takayoshi and Ronnie Shaeffer had four hits apiece as the Wenatchee AppleSox (26-12) clinched at least a tie for the West Coast League East Division title with a 12-4 win over the Spokane RiverHawks (17-22) at Gonzaga University.

Golf

Kellogg’s Kaceelyn Pouttu shot a 4-over-par 76 for second place in the girls 12-13 division after the first round of the 33rd Washington Junior Golf Association State Championship at Bellevue, Wash.

Colbert’s Savana Bezdicek (78) is in third place among 14-15 girls and Clarkston’s Michael Baldeck (73) is in third for 12-13 boys.

•Clarkston’s Joel Dahmen fired a 1-over 73 and is tied for 18th place halfway through the 43rd Pacific Coast Amateur Championship at The Gallery Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
