Church plans fashion show

Manito United Methodist Church, 3220 S. Grand Blvd., will present a style show, “One Hundred Years of Fashion,” Saturday at 7 p.m.

Part of the church’s centennial celebration, the evening will feature wedding gowns from the last century and other fashions from the same time period.

Refreshments will be served.

National Night Out party

Audubon Park United Methodist Church, 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd., will host a National Night Out Block Party on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Part of the National Night Out Against Crime, the event will feature games, treats, balloons and a jumping castle.

Vacation Bible School

Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th Ave., will offer “Kingdom of the Son,” a Vacation Bible School, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Kids ages 4 to 12 are invited for crafts, storytelling, songs, games and a meal.

Registration is encouraged.

Summer school

St. Patrick Catholic School, 2706 E. Queen Ave., will offer academic summer school Aug. 10 through 20 from 8 to 11:45 a.m. Registration is now being accepted.

Three classes are available: reading and writing, arithmetic and computer technology.

The artithmetic class is $65, as is the reading and writing class. The computer class is free.

Students from any school, public or private, can attend.

Open house

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3307 W. Rowan and Amazing Grace Lutheran will hold an open house Sunday at noon.

The day will include registration for Vacation Bible School, which will be held Aug. 10 through 14. There will also be a bounce house, information about what Lutherans believe, and “Stump the Pastor” with Pastor Alan Daugherty.
